Wendy is a Carrickfergus resident and she was with our Floating Support service for 7-months; she has successfully completed all of her goals with help from her support worker Clare.

Wendy, along with her Floating Support worker, worked together to help Wendy regain her independence and confidence with her daily living tasks, especially with shopping for groceries. Clare helped with setting up some grocery shopping apps and to complete some orders and pay for her groceries online; so Wendy could become more familiar with using this type of service. Wendy and Clare also discussed 'supermarket swaps' and 'budgeting'.

Wendy also obtained information on various local services and groups, and has attended a group at the library on a couple of occasions; which she thoroughly enjoyed!

Clare supported Wendy with her application for a ‘blue badge’, whilst Wendy conducted a phone assessment with Mobility Direct to discuss what mobility scooters would be suitable for Wendy, and then informed her on how the mobility scheme works.

Furthermore, Clare also supported Wendy with having a home safety check being carried out.

"Clare is a lovely Support Worker, and we worked well together. My confidence has grown and I am getting out more. I am pleased that I am now able to complete my shopping online and get it delivered. I have swapped some of the more expensive brands to cheaper versions. I am very satisfied with the service and would recommend it to others."
