Thomas was referred to the ‘Over 55 Moyle Floating Support Service’ due to finding himself homeless, as he had lost his job through ongoing health issues. This meant he could no longer afford, or maintain his home, which had fallen into disrepair.

Through visiting Thomas and his wife, Rachel, one of the Older People (55 +) Moyle Floating Support Workers, was able to give housing and financial advice specific to their circumstances.

Thomas and his wife were supported to contact the relevant services, which dealt with their financial and housing issues. With all the support given by Rachel the couple were offered suitable accommodation, and with financial support in place this allowed them to obtain a car suitable for Thomas and his needs. Thomas and his wife were both very grateful for the support received and have since referred other people to our Floating Support (55+) services
