  • Horticulture or gardening experience in growing seedlings, propagation, soil cultivation and growing a selection of summer bedding plants and seasonal veg and fruit.

  • A volunteer for social opportunities, to help take the residents out to a range of educational and daily life activities for example shopping, lunch, cinema and other events.

Volunteer Garden and Outdoor Maintenance Worker: 

  • Based across 2 sites in Carrickfergus Eden Allotment & Karuna Home
  • Cutting Grass and general lawn care
  • Pruning shrubs, hedges and small trees
  • Weeding flower beds and maintaining planted area
  • Watering plants and general upkeep of gardens
  • Light maintenance i.e. sweeping paths, clearing leaves
  • Painting and maintaining fences, garden sheds and decking areas
  • Power washing outdoor areas and carrying out general tidying tasks.

  • Cedar’s Living Options services have a range of residential and supported living facilities that provide services to adults with disabilities.

  • Effective communication skills would be a key requirement of a volunteer supporting our Living Options service users. If you are interested in using your skills to volunteer with Cedar, please complete the Volunteer Registration Form.

Community Inclusion (Adult)

  • Cedar’s Community Inclusion (Adult) Services recruit volunteers to support people with disabilities to build new social networks and become more involved in their local communities.

  • Volunteering opportunities can be face to face or remote and will depend on the needs and ability of the service user. If you are interested in using your skills to volunteer with Cedar, please complete the Volunteer Registration Form.

 Across NI

  • Cedar’s Employability Services offer support to adults with physical disabilities, brain injury and autism to build personal capacity, develop employability skills, engage with their local community and get involved in work and education/ training.

    Cedar has worked in partnership with Choice Housing and Radius to provide supported living  services within West Belfast Living Options. One of these services, ‘Mourneview Court’ is a new facility located at 151 Glen Road, Belfast. This facility comprises of 11 modern two bedroom apartments based on two tenants sharing. Assistive technology is available to promote independence and daily living.
