Service users taking part in Cedar's Inclusion Works programme recently completed a Personal Effectiveness after Brain Injury (PEABI) course. The group, facilitated by Case Officer Catherine Foreman, was delivered both at Cedar’s Balmoral Training and Resource and via Zoom for a period of nine months.

The course included six modules:

  • Introduction to brain injury
  • Attention and Concentration
  • Memory
  • Stress
  • Fatigue
  • Planning and organising

One service user who attended sessions explained:

“PEABI gave me the opportunity to meet and learn from others with a brain injury. It made me feel part of something after feeling isolated due to my brain injury. I enjoyed learning strategies to help me day to day and also from others with a brain injury. It also felt good to share strategies that I use which helped others in the group.”

During the sessions the group Completed an – OCR Entry Level Award in Life and Living Skills. We would like to congratulate everyone for their hardwork and dedication.
