Cedar celebrates Volunteers’ Week 2025 Volunteers’ Week returns this year after reaching its 40th anniversary last year. From 2nd to 8th June 2025, Cedar will join thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK and Northern Ireland. Running every year since 1984, the week provides a crucial opportunity to thank volunteers and recognise the value of their time, passion and skills. The campaign highlights the diversity and unity of volunteer work. This Volunteers’ Week, Cedar will be celebrating our many volunteers by providing them with the opportunity to learn skills and understand disability through taking part in the Learning Lab. The Learning Lab Week starts with Deaf Awareness training on Monday 2nd June, Visual Impairment Awareness on Tuesday 3rd June, Understanding Adult Autism on Wednesday 4th June and Brain Injury Awareness on Thursday 5th June. The week will finish with a Coffee and Connect morning on Friday 6th June when all our volunteers can come together, have a coffee and catch up. Volunteer Co-ordinator, Marian Bryson said: “Volunteers' Week is a chance to celebrate and recognise the fantastic contribution our volunteers make. Cedar benefits from their skills, time and dedication. Their work complements the staff team and”. the organisation is a richer place because of them”. One of our volunteers commented that “Cedar is an incredible organisation and it's a privilege to be a part of it”. The UK Volunteering Forum said: “Volunteers bring a richness to organisations across the country. There is no better time to recognise the diversity of our volunteers and celebrate the difference that volunteering makes than during Volunteers’ Week.
