Jerome stand on balcony of his new apartment. A bright blue sky and green trees are behind him.Jerome has been working with Floating Support Worker Síofra for just over a year now. They have completed many activities including getting a benefit check done to ensure Jerome is getting all the correct benefits and payments. Síofra also delivered support with filling in forms, finding a dentist to register with. The main focus is primarily on housing support, with advice on maximising housing points and linking in with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE).

When Jerome moved into his new flat Síofra also supported him with applying for a Discretionary Support Grant, applying for a Rates Rebate, updating rent information in the Universal Credit journal and setting up an electric account.

“Síofra came in at the right time and helped me to get everything sorted. I am now in my new flat with everything in order. She is kind, caring, friendly and I couldn’t have asked for a better support worker.”

Our Floating Support service helps people across the region. It covers all of the Northern, Southern and Belfast Trust areas. In the South-Eastern Trust area the service is available in Lisburn and Greater Lisburn. It is also available in the Northern Sector of the Western Trust.

This service will help anyone aged 18+ (no upper age limit). Service users receive ‘housing related support’, enabling them to develop independent living skills to maintain their tenancy and prevent homelessness.
