For Co-production Week, representatives from Cedar Foundation's User Forum met with researcher Rebecca Taylor, from Ulster University, to learn about her fascinating ongoing research.
Rebecca’s research involves making academic studies more accessible for people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Her research explores how pain affects the emotional, social, and physical well-being of adults both with and without cerebral palsy.
People in a Teams meeting
This collaboration offers an example of Cedar’s co-production ethos, with our User Forum members having been involved in Rebecca’s project since its inception. The partnership highlights our commitment to ensuring that people with disabilities are not just subjects of research, but active participants in shaping how studies are conducted and communicated.
By working directly with those who have lived experience, Rebecca’s research aims to bridge the gap between academic findings and the communities they seek to serve. Additionally, the User Forum's involvement helps ensure that research outcomes are presented in accessible formats and that the findings truly reflect the experiences and needs of people living with cerebral palsy.
