Our services Kristians' Academic Success: Transitions Good News “Having someone in my corner who understands the specific challenges of applying for roles with hearing loss allowed me to focus on my skills rather than the barriers.” — Kristian Kristian Cawley engaged with the Transitions service when he was considering his options, post school. With the help of Heather Roulston, he explored various apprenticeships and degrees course within the UK and Ireland. Kristian spent time visiting university campuses and accommodation options as well as receiving support with the student finance and disabled student allowance process. Heather reflected warmly ‘Kristian has been great to work with over the last year. Motivated, hardworking and shows extreme dedication and commitment to anything he put himself towards. Kristian has a really great, outgoing, and friendly personality, and I hope to see him go far with his future. Good Luck Kristian! Kristian started his PwC Apprenticeship through Belfast Met in Accountancy in September 2025. Kristian works in PwC full time, attending Belfast Met 2 days a week for evening classes. The apprenticeship is 4 years, where in the first two years Kristian will achieve Accounting Technicians Ireland Level 4 and Level 5. In the final two years Kristian will achieve his Chartered Accountants Ireland, making him a fully qualified Chartered Accountant at 22 years old. This is 3 years faster than going the university route. Kristian said that “Working with Heather this past year really took the stress out” of his transition. “I’m a massive fan of the apprenticeship model. It bridges the gap between theory and practice and gives you a foot in the door you might not otherwise get. It’s exactly the kind of hands-on start that builds a solid career.” We’re delighted to share Kristians’ huge achievement and spotlight the incredible work that our Transitions team has been doing.
