Halloween Hike Donate Hi, I had a sub-arachnoid brain haemorrhage and stroke in 2009. After discharge from hospital I was left without work, limited mobility and facing the massive upheaval such a life event can bring. I accessed Cedar's Community Inclusion services in 2011 thanks to my GP who was well informed of the great reputation of the organisation. I obtained employment with Cedar and have progressed solidly in my career from administrator to senior administrator across two directorates to my current role as Communications and Organisational Development Officer. Cedar and the people that make it have been a significant part of my professional and personal achievements. I love engaging with service users who are at the start of their recovery journey because I understand just how much support Cedar can give and how impactful the outcomes can be. Sooo, I'm planning to take on Black Mountain around Halloween 2026 (Date TBC based on weather conditions at the time of year). This hike isn't the biggest. I'm not scaling the tallest mountain but it is another step in right the direction to raise awareness for people who might need just a bit of direction to navigate the 'new normal' that comes with acquired disability. If you would like to support me please just click donate and I will keep you posted as I track my training progress. Ciara Allen
