Robert previously accessed Floating Support services with Cedar and during the pandemic he was referred again for a very exciting reason:

"I was working with Terry, my Floating Support Worker in the past and I was sorry to hear that he retired last year. My Social Worker referred me back to Cedar as I was moving into a new home.”

He continued to describe the challenges of moving during a pandemic:

“My Support Worker helped me organise moving my furniture, getting new floors and painting the walls in my new home. She also helped me organise moving my gas and electric bills over to my new home. It was a hard time to move because of lockdown and Cathy couldn't come to my house every week because of the restrictions, so a lot of my support had to be done through phone calls or meeting outside. We also had to wait for shops to open again, which meant I couldn't get my new floors or curtains straight away."

Robert has settled in now and said:

“I am so much happier in my new home now."

Cedar’s Floating Support team assists adults living in their own home to carry out their housing responsibilities as independently as possible by tailoring a programme to suit their individual needs.

All services are focused on the goals of the person and based on partnership working with them, their families and other health professionals. The programme is tailored to suit each individual.
