Jonathan acquired a brain injury at birth and after searching for support in recent years he accessed Cedar services in July 2019.
"My key worker arranged for me to be more active during the week as I wasn’t getting out and about much or seeing anybody. I am now involved with disability sports and Fit4u in South Lakes Leisure Centre. I take part in boccia, chair exercises and Nordic walking now and I’m loving it. Not only that I have lost a stone in weight and am feeling better for it and I am happy and more confident."
Jonathan's key worker Patrice said:
"Jonathan has tried every opportunity that I present to him and even if he doesn't like something gives it a go until he is sure he doesn't like it. He even linked in with the online Fit4U programme during lockown."
Jonathan is also an avid member of the ABI Choices Quiz every Friday.

When lockdown restrictions eased Jonathan couldn't wait to get back to face-to face meetings and Patrice connected him with Ryan McQuillan - (Live Active NI) at Craigavon Lakes where he attends Nordic Walking and also a Gym Fit programme. With the combination of these programmes and Fit4U  Jonathan was walking twice in the one day for a time and this led to a weight loss of over 1 stone. He said:
"I am feeling more energetic and healthier in myself.
Thank goodness for The Cedar Foundation (family)."
Patrice added:
"Jonathan is a very fun character who gets the best out of his ABI Choices programme as he attends everything that is offered. He continually updates his goals to keep his programme interesting and commits to all that he signs up for.  Jonathan is well liked at the activities he attends especially the Quiz on Friday.....he always manages to put a smile on my face."
